Theresa has known since age 10 that she would work in fashion in some capacity. Her first job after turning 16 was at the iconic Bonwit Teller one of her favorite retail emporiums. “This was where I set my standard for what fashion is about. Bonwits was a superb outpost of refined elegance and discreet good taste.” She attended Purdue University studying Fashion Retail, and from there she moved to New York to finish her design training at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Only three days after graduation, Theresa began her career in the fashion industry alongside Calvin Klein in his NY showroom. It wasn’t long before she made herself known in the industry and soon became the assistant to Tommy Hilfiger. She worked together with John Varvatos at Calvin and Reed Krakoff at Tommy before either had begun designing their independent collections. In 2000 Theresa returned to her hometown of Chicago and ventured out on her own to freelance and build her book as a stylist. She has worked with photographers including Kevin Sinclair, Race Willard, Michael Dar, Emil Sinanagic, Akin Girrard and Dan Monick. Theresa regularly visits New York, Los Angeles and Paris and brings all the inspiration back home to Chicago, which Theresa explains, “is the 'second city' in fashion too”. Some of the more notable clients Theresa has worked with are The Baldwin Brothers, Hugh Grant, Harry Connick Jr, Ken Griffey Jr and Sr, Brent Seabrook of the Chicago Blackhawks and most recently the Irish Punk band, Flogging Molly.
